FoxPuppy I'm not a big fan of remixes in general because I prefer to listen to the original, most times. That said, the Somewhere In Time digital EP is a rare exception. The original is, of course, great, but the remixes take the base vocals and craft a new landscape making each like a new song, each with a different sound and vibe. A very worthwhile purchase and a good omen for the future of VHxRR Favorite track: Somewhere In Time.

Sir Percival Blakeney With every new song VH welds his amazing electronic skills to RR’s smooth vocals. These two are amazing together and getting better separately. Both the instrumental and a cappella versions are great on there own. Great job guys!! Favorite track: Somewhere In Time.

schubert Another amazing song by VH x RR. I love the idea of this single being a throwback to the maxi singles I use to buy on vinyl or tape. All the different versions are amazing and well with the $. Right now the extended 12 inch instrumental is on repeat. It reminds me of the New Order instrumental version of Thieves Like Us. Get this you won’t regret it! Favorite track: Somewhere In Time (12 inch Extended Mix) [Instrumental].

Kendra Armer I can’t imagine any words I needed to hear right now more than “somewhere in time we’re all right.” Set to this music, sung like this, it is literally the balm I could not have articulated but that I absolutely required. Not only is this a song for this moment, but it’s also got the timeless sense of classic love song that will outlast all of this. I’m tiptoeing into 2021 with the faintest hope and with the refrain “through the night” running through my head. Favorite track: Somewhere In Time (12-inch Extended Mix).

Lyrics:

Lying awake and thinking about our fall from grace
Still on my own side, emptiness to my right through the night
We were too young to win that fight
We tore the fabric of a cold suburban light
In a parallel alternalife you’re still mine for a minute or a lifetime

Somewhere in time we’re alright
Somewhere in time it’s all light
All of the darkness that you feel
Just fades away because it’s not real
There’ll come a day when all the pieces fall in line
Somewhere in time

Lying awake and thinking about were we’ve come from
Running through streets on ecstasy ’til the dawn wasn’t wrong
I wish we’d never let that go
There were places that we never got to know
In an alternate afterglow we’re still high for a minute or a lifetime

about

VH x RR Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

VH x RR was founded in 2016 by Kent “Von” Hertzog and Rob Rowe. Hertzog reached out to Rowe on Twitter and essentially cold- called him to see if they could work together. Since then, despite working on their third EP together, the two have still not met in person. Hertzog works in his home studio outside Philadelphia and Rowe works out of his home studio in Seattle. ... more
